Rail & Transit

East San Fernando Valley (ESFV) Light Rail Transit Project

The East San Fernando Valley (ESFV) Light Rail Transit Project will improve connections and access to crucial destinations while connecting transit users to the growing network in the San Fernando Valley. The ESFV consists of a Northern and a Southern segment.

The Southern Segment is a 6.7-mile at-grade alignment including 11 new stations, 10 traction power substations (TPSS), and one new maintenance and storage facility (MSF).

The Northern Segment is being evaluated through supplemental study which will conclude in Q3 2024. The study is exploring design options for 2.5-miles of additional track from San Fernando Rd/Van Nuys Bl to Sylmar/San Fernando Metrolink Station.
