State Route 125 – San Diego Council of Governments, Caltrans District 11

2018-2022

LA METRO

The South Bay Expressway125 South toll road is a 9.2-mile, privately-developed southern extension of SR 125, extending from San Miguel Road in Bonita, CA near the Sweetwater Reservoir to SR 905 in Otay Mesa, near the International Border. The project connects the only commercial port of entry in San Diego to the regional freeway network.

DLCE was involved in the preparation of the environmental planning study and provided design support to the design-build concessionaire. This included highway and local streets and roads geometric design, grading, estimating, and utility identification/relocation. Also played a major role in the preparation of the final plan, specifications, and estimates (PS&E) for existing local roads at Fanita Road, Santee Avenue to South of Navajo Bridge. DLCE staff prepared a hydrologic and hydraulic report, located existing underground and above ground utilities, identified conflicts, and the proposed relocation of utility lines. Additionally, we delivered a utility matrix that identified all major utilities and prepared quantities for final estimates that were within the project’s constraints.
